Netherlands partners with Kwara on community healthcare
The Royal Kingdom of Netherlands is to strengthen its relationship with Kwara State in improving access to healthcare delivery through the Community Health Insurance Scheme.
The Deputy Ambassador of Netherlands to Nigeria, Mr. Michel Deerel stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed at the Government House, Ilorin. The Envoy described the Kwara State Community Health Insurance Scheme as a good model for other states and countries to emulate.
Ambassador Deerel added that the Netherlands had established partnership with University of Ilorin in the area of Agriculture to enhance economic activities between the countries. In his response, the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed said the government had developed a workable, sustainable and strategic plan towards improving the Community Health Insurance Scheme to enhance access to healthcare delivery in the state.
Governor Ahmed said the government was already finding a sustainable way of running the Insurance Scheme through appropriate funding.
The Governor promised that the government would strengthen the partnership with the Royal Kingdom of Netherlands through PharmAccess in expanding the Community Health Insurance Scheme in the state.
Governor Ahmed gave the assurance that his government would continue to be receptive of ideas towards strengthening healthcare service delivery in the state.
