Saraki: Kwara APC disappointed over Supreme Court ruling

Date: 2016-02-08

The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), ?has described the Supreme Court ruling on the appeal filed by the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki against the Code of Conduct Tribunal, as disappointing, surprising and shocking.

Some APC members and supporters have kicked against the ruling, saying it is an attempt to witch-hunt their leader, and vowed to protest it.

In a statement issued at the weekend in Ilorin by the party's spokesman, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, the APC insisted that Saraki's ordeal was a politically motivated prosecution, aimed at undermining the person and the office of the Senate President.

"Kwara APC acknowledges and appreciates the resilience, loyalty and support shown thus far by our teeming members and supporters. "The party urges its members to embrace peace ?as the innocence of the Senate President will be proven in due course and justice will prevail over political shenanigans," Buhari said.
