This, according to the speaker is because in the history of police force in Nigeria, the deceased ranked high among the finest officers to have served the country.

Ahmad in a statement issued by his Media Aide, Shuaib Abdulkadir in Ilorin on Thursday described the former IG's death as a rude shock and national loss.

Stating that it is on record that late Adewusi served the nation meritoriously while in active service, he added that even in retirement he continued to make himself available for the advancement of Nigeria as elder statesman.

The speaker said further that the former IG was a disciplinarian and thorough bred officer whose contributions has continued to have positive impact in the police force and the nation as a whole.

He lamented that the country would miss his vast experience and expertise in security issues which are of great value to the country.

Ahmad however condoled the Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Government and the deceased's immediate family for the loss of Adewusi.

The speaker urged them to take solace in the fact that the late IG lived a life worthy of emulation and expended everything to serve his fatherland.
