I have solution to boko haram, pipeline vandals, says mathematical scholar

Date: 2015-11-26

A young lecturer in an Ekiti university, and Nigerian scholar who solved 156 years old Riemann Zeta Knotty mathematical hypothesis, Dr Opeyemi Enoch , has disclosed that aside working on this Riemann Zeta function that part of his mathematical inventions also include: Using Mathematical function to detect someone with crime intention, that could be used in curbing Boko Haram and other form of criminal activities in the country.

Enoch, who graduated from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, added that his other inventions are I-cell key holder, that will help you to locate your lost key, the invention which eventually earned him best inventor of the year 2012 at the Ekiti State University.

This young scholar also invented a model that would empower aircraft to detonate bomb fired at it, generation of power from thunder and oceanic bodies, movable silos that could conserve agricultural products for five years and Mathematical invention for the protection of oil pipelines.

He also denounced the insinuation by some scholars from the Western world that he plagiarized his findings in resolving the hypothesis.

Speaking in Ado Ekiti yesterday, Enoch said the allegation leveled against him by a PhD student in Yale University, USA that he plagiarized his work, was a misdirected venom and part of the conspiracy of some racist-academics in the West, who believe something good cannot come from Africa.

Enoch accused scholars from the western world of promoting racialdiscrimination in the academic world, urging Africa to create its own Laurel should he be denied of being conferred with the Nobel Laureate title in Mathematics. He regretted that no African man has ever won Laurel title in Mathematics, Engineering and Medicine, hinging this on alleged conspiracy of the West.

He said the findings took him seven years to resolve, after his student brought the mathematical puzzle to him in November 14, 2008 from an online publication.

The academic said he has been sponsored by international bodies like Centre for Mathematics and Physics Association and Kwasulu University in South Africa to Port Novo, Benin Republic and Minikas in Morocco , to give presentations on the contentious mathematical issue in 2014. "I made my presentation before 119 nationalities of various countries on November 11, 2015 on the Riemann Zeta Function. I was able to generalize all finds on the hypothesis and that form the basis of the research and its acceptability.

"One thing is very clear here, if the International Conference on Mathematics and Computer Science, Vienna , Austria did not find my work worthy and acceptable, it won't publish it on its portal.

"Aside this, the PhD student in America who wrote that I copied his work was only making a folly of himself.

"A PhD student has not published any work for anybody to plagiarise, so I am not really bothered by his allegation. But it is wrong for anybody to rate a PhD student higher and above a PhD holder sinmply because the latter is from Africa", he said.

The young scholar however advised the federal government to continue to promote academics with good invention , for government to make more money in view of the dwindling oil revenue.
