Kwara earmarks 500m for revolving loans to artisans
The Kwara State government says it earmarked N500 million for revolving loans to artisans and persons in the informal sector.
Alhaji Saka Onimago, the state Commissioner for Commerce and Cooperatives, who announced this at a press briefing in Ilorin yesterday, said the move was to reduce poverty and create jobs.
He said out of the amount, the ministry had accessed N250 million, while N150 million had been disbursed to 147 beneficiaries to set up businesses.
Onimago said part of the requirements to benefit from the facility was the formation and registration of a cooperative society with at least 10 members under the ministry. (NAN)
