A crew from Hollywood is set to turn the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) into a movie set for new flick.

Hollywood Actor, Producer and Director, Bayo Akinfemi, revealed this development last week when he visited the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON).

Akinfemi, who was the President of the Performing Arts Students Association during his time at university, said workshops will also be held for students. He said the workshop and the film will give Performing Arts students an opportunity to have learn and understand the practical aspects of what they are being taught, noting that is important for students to learn to translate stage acting to film'

The former alumnus also noted that it is possible to produce Oscar Award winning films in Nigeria provided the enabling environment is created.

Ambali lauded the filmmaker for his efforts, adding that his successes signal that he had put what he learnt at the institution to use. "You have done this for national development and for the entire world," Ambali said.

"You are flying the flag of the University really high." The Vice Chancellor added that the institution is planning to own a TV station in addition to its popular radio station.

Akinfemi is known for a number of films including Bulletproof Monk (2003), Human Cargo (2004) and Far Cry 2 (2008).
