Ali Ahmad elected Kwara Assembly Speaker

A former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Justice, Dr. Ali Ahmad, has been elected Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly.

Ahmad was nominated by member-elect representing Shawo/Igboidun, Mr. Hassan Oyeleke, as a sole nominee.

He was consequently unanimously elected by the other 23 members of the House which has a total of 24 members. All members of the house are from the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Ahmad, a lawyer, was once the Commissioner of Justice and Attorney-General of Kwara State.
