APC Chieftain Tasks Buhari on Rehabilitation of Refineries
Worried about the current problems being experienced by Nigerians over the fuel crisis, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress(APC) in Kwara state, Hon. Sunday Ayanda has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to embark on rehabilitation of all the existing oil refineries in the country.
He said that such development would also put an end to fuel subsidy and fuel importation to the country from other countries of the world.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the state capital over the weekend, Ayanda described the current fuel crisis in the country as uncalled for in view of the fact that, the nation was blessed with oil and the people must not be suffering.
According to him, " the fuel scarcity being experienced in the country would become a thing of the past if the new administration could rehabilitate all the nation's oil refineries.
He said: "Itis disheartening that, the people of the country can still be suffering over oil when the nation was really blessed with the resources."
Ayanda added: "Nigerians deserve the best and the only way out is to see to the rehabilitation of these oil refineries so that the oil can be refined locally."
On the chances of the senator representing Kwara central senatorial district at the national assembly, Senator Bukola Saraki to emerge as the next the senate president, Aynada said Saraki possessed leadership zeal that would go a long way of moving the nation forward.
He said: "As a former governor state, former chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum and his contributions to the debate at the floor of the senate since he was elected, Saraki remains a candidate that would usher-in new leadership that would serves as an impetus for the good governance of the country if emerged as the next senate president of 8th national assembly."
Ayanda therefore appealed to the leaders of the APC to rally round Saraki so as to assist him clinch the senate presidency for the betterment of the nation's democratic growth.
