2nd term: KWSG calls for prayers

Date: 2015-05-25

The Kwara state deputy governor, Elder Peter Kisira has stressed the importance of prayers to the success of any government and enjoined Christians to continue to support the present administration in the state with prayers.

Elder Kisira stated this yesterday during a special inauguration service held at UMCATC Chapel along Ajase-Ipo road, Ilorin.

In his words, "as we match to the second tenure, I call for your prayers. I urge you to commit this administration to prayers for achievements that would surpass those recorded in the tenure being brought to its conclusive end."

He assured the gathering that the present administration will in its 2nd tenure "ensure justice, equity and fair play in handling all issues and particularly those with religious undertones so that we can continue to live in peace and enjoy the accompanying privileges."

The deputy governor who promised that the present administration will do more in its second tenure called for the unalloyed support of everyone in the state stressing that, that was the only way the government could succeed.

He called on the Christian body in the state to operate in one accord and as one indivisible whole so that the prayers will be answered.

Earlier in his sermon, Reverend Cornelius Fawenu who spoke on the theme of the occasion, 'ruling in the fear of God' which was taken from II Samuel 23:1-3, affirmed that "good governance is established on the fear of God which is the beginning of wisdom. Where the fear of God exists shared prosperity will be the order of the day."

The service which had ministers of God and top government functionaries in attendance featured prayers for the nation and the state.
