Ilorin residents plunged into darkness

Date: 2015-04-16

R

esidents of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital have been plunged into total darkness for the past three or four days following a major breakdown of transmission from the Jebba Hydro Electric station.

Officials of the PHCN who spoke to The Herald under condition of anonymity said efforts to route power supply from the Osogbo transmission station to Ilorin following the breakdown of transmission from Jebba had also not yielded fruitful results.

As at the time of filing this report yesterday, efforts were still on as PHCN officials battled with what was described as technical problem in a bid to route power supply from the Osogbo transmission station.

Already, socio-economic activities have been paralyzed leading to losses incurred by traders who power their businesses with electricity.
