Flying Eagle star, Taiwo Awoniyi has been honoured  by the Igbomina Youth Assembly in recognition of his outstanding performance at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the UAE.

According to a release by the Assembly, and signed by Muktar Mustapha Alakoro, the Social Secretary, Awoniyi, who hails from Olla  Community in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara state deserved the honour for doing them proud.

While presenting Awoniyi with the plaque of honour at Igbomina National Secretariat, Ganmo, in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Adewara Toyin commended Awoniyi for doing the Community, Igbomina people, Kwara state and Nigeria proud at the world state.

Awoniyi was honoured by the Kwara State House of Assembly, under the able leadership of Rt. Hon. Razak Atunwa after the World Cup last year.

Among those who graced the reception are Mallam Lanre Kareem, who is the Assistant National Secretary of the body, Sir Samuel Atolagbe, who is the current National President, Engr. Shuaeeb Oyewole,and  his coach, Coach Abdulrazaq Olojo.

Also present at the reception are Mr. and Mrs. Awoniyi, the parents of the hero.

The parents were full of praises to God, the Youth Assembly and the coach, for making the occasion a huge success.
