Ex-military officers tasked on Boko Haram

Date: 2014-09-08

Special Adviser to the President on Ethics and Values, Sarah Jubril, has called on retired military officers in the country to assist in the fight against insurgency.

She said retired Generals and other military officers cannot afford to remain in their comfort zone while the Boko Haram fighters gain more grounds, overrunning towns and communities.

Jubril spoke in Ilorin, Kwara State, at the opening of a 21-day training on linking women and youths for sustainable Green Development and Income Generation through Agric Business.

The event was organised by the Islamic Green Club Empowerment Initiative in conjunction with the office of the presidential aide. She said all retired generals in the military and paramilitary agencies should "congregate" at Gwoza, which was recently taken over by Boko Haram, and reclaim it.
