Muslims urged to renew their faith.
    
The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammed Bashir Solihu, gave the admonition on Friday while delivering a juma'at sermon at the opening of a Central Mosque built by Sheikh Qudus Koro at Modinat-Fomo, Abayawo, Ilorin.
Sheikh Solihu urged Muslims to demonstrate high sense of modesty and responsibility while dealing with people around them irrespective of religious affiliations to typify the beauty of Islam.
He also called on well-to-do Muslims to channel their wealth to the propagation of Islamic doctrines in order to change the perception held by some people.
The Chief Imam of Ilorin, who also expressed concern over multi-faceted problems in the country, enjoined true believers to move closer to God.
Sheikh Solihu commended the founder of the new mosque, Sheikh Qudus Koro, for beautifying Islam with the edifice, just as he challenged other Muslim clerics in Ilorin community to emulate him.
He called on Muslims to always embark on charity projects such as building of mosque and always make places of worship clean and conducive, saying that reward await them in the hereafter.
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, who also made brief remark after the jumat prayer, prayed Almighty Allah to continue to uplift Islam and Muslims.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after two rakat juma'at prayer, a university lecturer and former commissioner in the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Professor Badmas Lanre Yusuf, urged the media to stop tagging Boko-Haram with Islam.
Professor Badmus who is also the Chief Imam of Al-Hilal Crescent Mosque, said the insurgents have automatically ex-communicated themselves from Islam with the doctrine under which they are operating, just as he pointed out that Islam does not give room for compulsion.
The juma'at service was attended by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, Islamic scholars and Muslim faithful from Ilorin community.
