Asa communal clash: Emir presents N6m to victims, sues for peace

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari has presented N6 million relief fund to Fulanis/Bororos residing in Alapa town of Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State  who lost their valuables to the recent communal clash in the area.

The gesture according to a statement signed  by the Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Alhaji Salihu Woru Mohammed is to cushion the hardship on the victims.
The statement said each of the victims was given N35,000 as a way of assisting them.

The statement lauded the quick intervention of the state government on the clash.
It urged the people of the state to live together in peace and harmony among themselves, noting that no meaningful development could take place in a rancorous environment.

The statement advised people of the area to go about their normal business without fear of molestation as necessary security arrangement had been put in place by the government.

It condoled with the family of those who lost their love ones during the clash.

Responding on behalf of the victims, the Jowuro Lamba, Alhaji Mohammed Fulani thanked the Emir for the gesture.
