Saraki sympathises with rainstorm victims

Date: 2012-04-26

Senator Bukola Saraki (Kwara central) has expressed sympathy to the victims of the rainstorm, which wreaked havoc in Ilorin on Tuesday.

Saraki, who spoke through his Special Adviser Political, Mallam Yunus Abdulrahaman, appealed to the victims to regard the mishap as an act destined by Allah.

He assured that the appropriate authorities would provide succour to the victims to mitigate the pain of the incident.

Meanwhile, a team of the senator's aides had gone round the affected areas at the instance of Saraki to commiserate with the victims as well as record the damage caused to individual victims.

It will be recalled that heavy rainstorm damaged many houses in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital on Tuesday.

The storm felled trees, pulled down perimeter fences, electricity poles, blew off roofs and in some places flattened buildings.
