2015: Ekiti-Kwara students canvass good governance

Date: 2015-02-08

National Association of Ekiti-Kwara Students, an umbrella body of all students’ associations in Ekiti local government area of Kwara state, has reiterated its concern for peaceful conduct among students during and after the 2015 elections in the area.

In a statement jointly signed by its president and speaker, Comrades Daramola Adewuyi and Kareem Hamid, respectively, and made available to journalists in Ilorin at the weekend, the students urged youths in the area not to be involved in any issue that could divide the people of Ekiti Local Government Area and the state at large.

The students’ association, which said it is political but non-partisan, said it appreciated the development efforts of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, the incumbent Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, so far, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Senator Simeon Sule Ajibola, at taking the state to another level of development.

It also challenged the two governorship candidates to intensify their activities and contributions towards ensuring that the people of Kwara State enjoy the dividends of democracy when elected into power in the 2015 elections.

The association also urged youths to participate in the elections to ensure the enthronement of good governance.
