Gbemi Saraki Moves To Alleviate Wale Babalakin's Multiple Troubles
Gbemi, the Defeated Gubernatorial aspirant and member of powerful political family - Saraki has embraced a new challenge.
According to societynowng she has initiate moves to bail out embattled city businessman, Mr Wale Babalakin from his many troubles./p>
Babalakin is undergoing prosecution for corruption charges.
He is accused of serving as a business front for convicted politician Mr James Ibori- and helping the former governor to launder about N4.7 billion between May and December 2006.
Outside of this- the celebrity businessman and chairman of cash strapped business entity, Bi-Courtney recently lost some of his choice properties over a N13.5 billion debt to Guaranty Trust Bank Plc
The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON reportedly took over the properties when Babalakin couldn't meet up repayment terms.
These developments are said to be outside of quietly divesting his investments to meet up 'other financial' obligations. Including putting some of his 'belongings' on sale.
His situation is said to be worsened by the sudden affliction of medical disease, Hypertension - reportedly brought about the increasing challenges pervading his person.
According to a source ' It is this, his sorry state of being that warranted recent steps by Gbemi Saraki'
Information revealed based on close 'rapport' between the duo - Gbemi has taken it as a major undertaking to help Babalakin get over his 'legal' and 'business' troubles.
She is said to have to have put influence and clout put together as a one term federal House of Representative member and two term member of the Senate - aided with the Saraki name - to use to tackle Babalakin's problems from the perceived root- the Presidency.
Sources further revealed Gbemi is working the clock, plying pressure and lobbying to get presidential intervention to make the money laundering issue go away - with the believe others will disappear with time.
Insiders however revealed, the passion with which Gbemi is attacking the 'save Babalakin' mission has brought about an alleged revelation. That the relationship with Babalakin is beyond the ordinary.
There are talks that it was to the troubled businessman she shifted attention - when romance with former speaker, Dimeji Bankole waned.
'They have been dating quietly and passionately for more that two years now...ever since she discovered Dimeji wasn't what he portrayed himself to be to her' another source alleged.
Though it is yet to be confirmed what the stance more popular and influential Saraki- Bukola has adopted in this move by Gbemi, it remains to be seen whether it will yield desired goal or not.
