APC Presidential Campaign Council Commends Governor AbdulRazaq for Leadership and Party Support
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has commended Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his leadership and contributions to the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
The council, led by its Director-General, Senator Abdulazeez Yari, gave the commendation during a visit to the governor at Ahmadu Bello House, Ilorin, as part of its nationwide engagement ahead of the elections.
Yari said the visit was to appreciate AbdulRazaq's contributions to the APC and seek his continued support for the party's success in Kwara State and across the country.
He acknowledged the governor's role in advising President Bola Tinubu and the campaign council, expressing confidence in continued collaboration as preparations for the elections gathered momentum.
"Your Excellency, we are here to pay homage. We know, particularly I personally know what you are doing to ensure that APC succeeds not only in Kwara but also in Nigeria," Yari said.
He stated that the governor remained committed to ensuring the success of the party's political objectives.
Yari also praised AbdulRazaq for the reception accorded the delegation upon its arrival at the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin, describing it as an exceptional gesture during the council's nationwide tour.
Responding, AbdulRazaq congratulated members of the council on their appointments, saying their experience and contributions to nation-building reflected the party's confidence in their ability to deliver on the assignment.
"I congratulate you for being nominated into PCC, the highest organ of our campaign. It's because the party recognises your capacities, your contribution to nation building and what you can achieve," he said.
The governor expressed confidence in the APC's political position in Kwara, saying the party had maintained its dominance since 2019 while the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had continued to lose ground.
He also argued that the reported support of PDP national leader and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for President Tinubu's re-election bid would further strengthen the APC's position in the state.
AbdulRazaq highlighted his administration's record in infrastructure, education, healthcare and public service, noting that his government had addressed previous challenges involving the payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities.
He cited the technology-driven KwaraLEARN programme in public basic schools, which he said had helped reduce absenteeism and improve learning outcomes.
On the state's political future, the governor expressed confidence in the APC governorship candidate, Salihu Yakubu Danladi, Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, describing him as a grassroots politician familiar with the administration's policies and programmes.
He also highlighted the experience of the party's deputy governorship candidate, Seun Oguniyi Adato, a serving member of the state assembly.
The delegation included former governors Aminu Bello Masari, Rochas Okorocha, Ali Modu Sheriff, Adamu Aliero, Abubakar Badaru, Ibrahim Shema, Sani Yerima, Danjuma Goje, Abdullahi Ganduje and Olusegun Mimiko.
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, and former lawmaker Olubunmi Ette were also part of the team.
The delegation also met with Danladi, Adato, state APC Chairman Sunday Fagbemi and other government officials.
The Council later paid homage to the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, seeking his prayers and blessings for President Tinubu and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
The emir welcomed the delegation and prayed for the success of the president and all APC candidates in the forthcoming polls.
