3,000 Ilorin Residents Benefit from Free Medical Outreach by Eniobanke Foundation

Date: 2026-08-13

About 3,000 residents of Ilorin, Kwara State, are set to benefit from a three-day free medical outreach organised by the Eniobanke Foundation for Humanity.

The outreach commenced at the Emir's Palace in Ilorin on Wednesday and is scheduled to end on Friday at Tanke, as part of efforts to improve access to healthcare for residents, particularly those facing financial difficulties.

Speaking with journalists during the exercise, the foundation's Director of Programmes, Mr Quadri AbdulSamad, said the initiative was driven by the organisation's commitment to serving humanity and giving back to society.

He said the programme was designed to improve the wellbeing of residents and provide access to quality healthcare without financial barriers.

"Over 3,000 people will benefit from this three-day free medical outreach in Ilorin. It is also due to our love for the people, to boost their socio-economic wellbeing and bring them closer to healthcare delivery," AbdulSamad said.

He explained that the programme was being facilitated by the foundation in collaboration with the Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi, as part of efforts to provide quality medical care to less privileged members of society.

According to him, beneficiaries would undergo various medical tests and receive medications free of charge, while those requiring specialised treatment would be referred to appropriate medical facilities.

AbdulSamad added that similar outreaches would be extended to other states, including Kwara, Oyo, Ogun, Edo, Cross River, Delta and Plateau, in collaboration with the Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi.

Also speaking, the Medical Coordinator of the exercise, Mr Ibrahim Saddiq, said the outreach was aimed at giving back to society by providing free medical services to residents.

He said beneficiaries would be screened for various health conditions, including HIV, high blood pressure, eye problems and high blood sugar.

Saddiq explained that qualified medical personnel had been engaged to attend to beneficiaries, adding that those diagnosed with conditions beyond the capacity of the medical team would be referred to specialist hospitals for further treatment.

Some beneficiaries who spoke with journalists expressed appreciation to the foundation for the initiative, saying the free medical services would help reduce the financial burden on households amid the prevailing economic challenges.
