Kwara SUBEB Opens Bids for 211 Projects Under 2025 UBEC Intervention Programme
The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has opened bids for the execution of the 2025 Federal Government, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and SUBEB intervention projects across the state.
A total of 211 bids were received for 12 project categories covering classroom construction and renovation, provision of toilets, safe school projects, furniture, solar-powered boreholes, textbooks, sports equipment and digital learning facilities.
Addressing the bid opening ceremony in Ilorin, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq stated that the exercise demonstrates his administration's commitment to transparency, accountability and due process in public procurement.
Governor AbdulRazaq, represented by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, stated that the projects would strengthen basic education delivery and improve learning outcomes across the sixteen local government areas of the state.
He added that the government remains committed to providing every child in Kwara State with access to a safe, inclusive and conducive learning environment.
Chairman of SUBEB, Professor Shehu Raheem Adaramaja, commended the Governor for the regular payment of UBEC counterpart funds and sustained investments in educational infrastructure, teacher development, instructional materials and digital learning initiatives.
Professor Adaramaja noted that intervention projects executed under previous funding cycles had significantly improved school infrastructure and enhanced teaching and learning in public basic schools across the state.
Addressing the ceremony on behalf of the contractors, Alhaji Maruf Ahmed assured the government of strict adherence to project specifications and appealed for continued patronage of indigenous contractors.
