The Kwara State chapter of the United States Global Education Alumni Association of Nigeria (USGEAAN) has delivered career counselling sessions for secondary school students in Omu-Aran, Kwara State.

The outreach programme, conducted at Ofe Aran Secondary School and Landmark University Secondary School, assembled more than 240 students who participated in interactive guidance sessions designed to enhance their academic and career decision-making.

The counselling sessions were facilitated by Prof. Faoziyat Suleiman, Kwara State Coordinator of USGEAAN, alongside Dr David Olugbenga Adetitun, immediate past coordinator and current ex officio member; Dr Rabiu Abdulkarim, Public Relations Officer; and Mrs Tawakalitu Alabi, Secretary.

Discussions during the sessions addressed key areas including effective study techniques, such as the SQ3R method, career pathways in the sciences, arts, and commercial disciplines, and the significance of innovation within a rapidly evolving global economy.

Facilitators urged students to embrace disciplined study habits and make informed career choices aligned with their strengths and interests. The sessions were structured to be participatory, with students actively engaging throughout the two-hour programme at each school.

At the conclusion of the training, participants were served refreshments as a gesture of encouragement.

The principals of both schools expressed gratitude to USGEAAN for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful in shaping students' futures.
