Kwara FA Signs N50 Million Three-Year Sponsorship Deal for President Federation Cup
The Kwara State Football Association has formalised a N50 million, three-year sponsorship agreement with Stafolga and FlowFM for the President Federation Cup, in what the association describes as one of the most structured private-sector interventions in the state's football ecosystem in recent years.
The agreement was signed at the FlowFM studio in Ilorin and is expected to improve logistics, boost incentives for participating clubs, and raise the overall quality and visibility of the competition.
Speaking at the signing, Engr. Femi Sanni described the initiative as the beginning of deeper engagement in sports development and assured stakeholders of further interventions. Sanni, popularly known as Araba, is a governorship aspirant seeking his party's ticket ahead of the 2027 election.
Kwara FA Chairman Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya acknowledged the sponsor's contribution to recent successes in the state's football landscape. He also called on clubs to take advantage of the ongoing registration window for the competition.
Kwara United's victory in the 2025 President Federation Cup has been widely attributed to improved structural support and private-sector collaboration a model the FA says it intends to build on.
The Federation Cup has historically served as a platform for talent discovery in the state but has struggled with funding and organisational constraints. Beyond football, a more structured competition is expected to stimulate local enterprise across transportation, hospitality, media, and event management.
FlowFM's role as both sponsor and broadcast platform adds a visibility dimension to the deal. The integration of sports and broadcasting, the FA noted, offers emerging athletes a level of exposure increasingly considered central to player development at the grassroots level.
