Third Estate of Ilorin Emirate Congratulates Dr Isiaka Alada on NPC National Commissioner Nomination
The Third Estate of Ilorin Emirate has congratulated Dr Isiaka Yahaya Alada on his nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a National Commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC), subject to confirmation by the Senate.
In a statement signed by its President, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, and Publicity Secretary, Mallam Nasir Abdulquadri, the association described the nomination as a fitting recognition of Alada's integrity, competence, and decades of meritorious service in the civil service.
The group noted that Alada, a former General Secretary of the Third Estate, built a distinguished career marked by professionalism, administrative depth, and commitment to public service, culminating in an honourable retirement.
According to the statement, his contributions to the development of Kwara State and his reputation as a seasoned administrator have earned him widespread respect across public institutions and community circles.
The Third Estate also highlighted Alada's enduring commitment to the Ilorin Emirate, describing him as a loyal and dedicated member who has consistently contributed to the growth and progress of the community.
"This appointment is not only a personal achievement but also a moment of pride for the Ilorin Emirate and all who have worked with him," the statement said.
Born in Ilorin, Kwara State, Dr Alada obtained a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from Ahmadu Bello University in 1986 and a Master's degree in Political Science (International Studies) from the University of Ibadan in 1987. He later earned a PhD in Political Science from the same institution in 2002.
A respected communication expert, Alada began his career in journalism before joining the National Population Commission as a Public Affairs Officer, rising through the ranks to become a Director of Public Affairs prior to his retirement.
He also served as a part-time lecturer at the National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja Study Centre, and contributed as a National Expert (Media Specialisation) under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nigeria Democracy Governance for Development project. In addition, he worked with international bodies including the European Union Election Observation Mission (EUEOM) and the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES) as an electoral administration expert.
Dr Alada is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the Nigerian Political Science Association, and the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
The Third Estate expressed confidence that he would bring his wealth of experience, credibility, and professionalism to bear in his new national assignment, while offering prayers for his successful Senate confirmation and for wisdom and strength in the discharge of his duties.
