Kwara United Captain Kabiru Mohammed Confirms Team's Readiness for Asante Kotoko Clash

Date: 2025-09-18

Kwara United captain Kabiru Mohammed has declared his team fully prepared for their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round clash against Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.

The first-leg tie is set for Sunday, 21 September at the Accra Sports Stadium, where the Harmony Boys will aim to overcome the home advantage and rich continental pedigree of the Porcupine Warriors.

Speaking ahead of the match, the team captain affirmed that the squad is both mentally and physically ready for the challenge.

"We know the match against Asante Kotoko won't be easy because of the way they play and the support of their home fans, but we are ready physically and mentally for the game," he said.

Asante Kotoko, a two-time African champion with a storied legacy, are targeting a deep run in this season's competition.

Meanwhile, Kwara United, buoyed by their President Federation Cup triumph last season, are determined to make a strong continental statement and see the tie as an opportunity to announce their arrival on Africa's stage.
