The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has led a special prayer session for the security and peace of Kwara State and Nigeria.

Speaking after the event on Thursday in Ilorin, the Emir commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his administration's efforts in combating insecurity and banditry across the state.

He stressed the critical role of traditional institutions as moral and spiritual vanguards in the pursuit of lasting peace.

Mr. Sulu-Gambari expressed deep concern over the widespread insecurity affecting the nation but praised federal, state, and local governments for their ongoing efforts to restore stability.

He explained that the prayer session was organised to spiritually support government and security agencies in their tireless work to ensure a safe environment for residents and visitors alike.

During the gathering, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Dr. Muhammad Bashir, offered prayers for peaceful coexistence, religious tolerance, and social harmony throughout Kwara and the entire country.

He committed the entire people of Kwara and Nigeria at large into the hands of Almighty Allah for continuous protection, guidance and provision.

The prayer was attended by top government functionaries and the state Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, was also in attendance.
