Chief Imam, Others preach Peace and Unity at Fidau for NILDS DG's Brother
The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Bashir Mohammed, called for peace, unity, and love to foster sustainable growth in Nigeria.
He emphasised the importance of a steadfast focus on faith in God as a guiding principle for national progress.
Speaking at a fidau prayer in Ilorin for Sheikh Isiaka Sulaiman Ajimati, the elder brother of Prof Abubakar Sulaiman, Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), the Chief Imam urged unity among Nigerians.
He advised the family of the deceased to remain united and encouraged all to eschew divisive tendencies that could hinder communal harmony.
The Grand Mufti of Ilorin, Sheikh Sulyman Faruq Onikijipa, also spoke, revealing that the late Sheikh Ajimati had prayed for his brother, Prof Sulaiman, to achieve great status in life.
He admonished Prof Sulaiman not to grief over the death of his elder brother but to accept it as the will of Allah, reminding that Allah is the great comforter.
Earlier, Grand Mukadam of Ilorin Sheik Sulyman Dan Borno enjoined the bereaved DG to hold the Sulaiman's family together and continue to show them kindness.
Chief Imam Mohammed led the prayers.
Dignitaries at the event were Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's representative/Senior Special Adviser, Alhaji Saad Salahudeen, Dr Gali Alaya, formerly of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL),; senior special adviser (special duties) to the governor, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Jida, Grand Khadi of Kwara State, Justice Abdulateef Kamaldeen and a former grand Khadi of the state, Justice Saliu Mohmmed.
Others are member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Lukman Olumo, a minister from Republic Benin, Alhaji Sefiyullah, former Commissioner, Hajia Ayinke Saka, former Chief Press Secretary to former governor, Ahaji Mas'ud Adebimpe, former governor's special adviser, Alhaji Usman Bibere Ajape, among others.
