Kwara State Police Assure Maximum Security Ahead of Local Government Elections
News from TVC News indicate that the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Victor Olaiya, has assured the public of maximum security ahead of Saturday's local government elections.
In a statement released by the Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, the police command has made comprehensive security arrangements to ensure a peaceful, free, and fair electoral process across all polling units in the state.
According to the statement, a strategic meeting was held with heads of various security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Air Force, Navy, DSS, NSCDC, FRSC, Customs, Immigration, NCoS, NDLEA, and the Federal Fire Service, to coordinate efforts to maintain law and order before, during, and after the elections.
”This collaboration underscores the commitment of all security agencies to safeguard the process and ensure that the election is free from violence or intimidation of any form”, she added.
The police encouraged the electorate to exercise their civic duty with confidence, knowing that their safety is a top priority.
The police appealed to the people of Kwara to remain calm, be law-abiding, and cooperate fully with security personnel on duty.
