Date: 2024-06-13

According to a news report from Voice of Nigeria, the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has reaffirmed the state government's commitment to developing the tourism sector by promoting sociocultural festivals and monuments.

Governor AbdulRazaq expressed his resolve to partner with and support various cultural associations in the state, including the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressives Union (IEDPU), to drive and sustain growth across various sectors. He made this pledge when he received the Chairman of the Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee, Engineer Suleiman Yahaya Alapansanpa, at the Government House in Ilorin.

The Governor assured continued collaboration with cultural associations to foster sustainable growth in the sector and announced increased support for the 2024 Durbar Festival and other major cultural events in the state.

During the visit, Engineer Alapansanpa highlighted the significant support the Emirate had received from the governor and the state government in previous editions of the festival, leading to the high level of success in the last celebration.

The Ilorin Durbar event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, the third day of the Ileya festival, at the Emir's palace.
