Decomposing Corpse Of Man Evacuated From Il?rin Street

Date: 2024-02-15

The decomposing corpse of a man has been evacuated from Emir Road, Il?rin, Kwara State.

The development left residents concerned about the possible health implication of the decomposing corpse discovered on Monday lying along the road for more than 24 hours.

The corpse was later identified as that of a man suspected with a mental disorder who was seen in the area the previous days before the incident.

Findings showed that the remains of the man were immediately buried after the evacuation.

Confirming the incident on Wednesday, spokesman of the state police command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, explained in a statement that, “The corpse has been evacuated from the scene by the Kwara State environmental personnel in Ilorin South LGA.

“The policemen of 'C' Division were present at the scene. It should be noted that due protocols of evacuation caused the delay.”
