The leadership of Igbomina Youth Assembly and Joint Community Development Association (Ilorin Emirate) said AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration deserves every support from well-meaning Kwarans in her pursuit of radical socio-economic transformation of the State.

At a separate meeting held at the Governor’s office and presided by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Intervention, Kayode Oyin-Zubair, they were unanimous in their submission: “the evidence of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s life-touching policies and programs are visible in all the nooks and crannies of the State”.

Alfa Surajudeen Kewulere who led the leadership of the Joint Community Development Association (Ilorin Emirate) enumerated a number of programs carried out by his association since its establishment in 2010.

According to him, the association intervened when darkness pervaded parts of Ilorin metropolis which led to picketing of electricity distribution company’s undertaking in the recent past.

Kewulere is worried on how nearly all shops built by the Nigeria Police Force G Division in Oloje were rented out to betting outlets. This, is in his words is making persuasion on “dignity in labour” difficult among young people within the area.

He later enjoined the State Government to speed up work on the Okoolowo power station project, which serves a good part of the State capital and it is more than 90% to brace completion.

In a similar vein, President of Igbomina Youth Assembly, James Adewumi said his organization has carried out several programs in its 10 years of existence.

Adewumi said, Igbomina Youth Assembly will partner government on many advocacies like cleanliness and adherence to health protocols on Covid-19 among others.

According to him, the body will soon embark on tour of communities making up Igbomina to conduct NEEDS Assessment which will be presented to government for interventions in the nearest future.

While responding the Senior Special Assistant on Community Intervention to the Governor, Kayode Oyin-Zubair assured them of government’s readiness to listen to relevant stakeholders on community development.

Oyin-Zubair re-emphasized the need for regular interface between community development associations, faith based organizations and other stakeholders. He described it as a veritable tool for achieving speedy and people-centered development.

According to him, the governance style of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has endeared development partners to the State that hitherto would not do anything here.

“As you are aware governance is about collaboration and functional partnership that are premised on mutual trust.

“We came into the saddle when distrust in government is the order of the day. Citizens no longer trust government and development partners didn’t want to do anything here.

“The narrative is changing; as I speak with you corporate bodies and others in the business of community development are knocking at the doors of our Governor everyday. That is what sincerity, openness and accountability have earned us,” the Governor’s aide reflected
