Hon. Muyiwa Oladipo, the Chairman of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara, on Saturday described the death of Hon. Funke Adedoyin, a member of the House of Representatives, has tragic and shocking.

Adedoyin, a one-time Minister of Women Affairs under the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo was said to have died in the early hours of Friday in Abuja.

She represented Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency in Kwara South.

The condolences was contained in a statement signed by the council boss and released to the News Agency of Nigeria, in Omu-Aran, said her sudden death was a colossal loss to her constituency, the council, her party and the state at large.

The council boss said that the vacuum left behind by Adedoyin as a versatile politician, a grassroot mobiliser of immensurable qualities and legacies would be difficult to fill.

Oladipo said the state has lost one of its vibrant and finest federal lawmaker, noting that she was always ready to contribute her quota to the development of the state.

According to him, despite being a first timer in the Hallowed Chambers, her performance remained unequal in terms of seeing to the yearnings and aspirations of the people of her constituency.

"In spite of her health challenges, she was always prepared and on top of her responsibilities with utmost priority attention to the welfare and well-being of not only her constituency, but generality of Kwarans,"he said.

Oladipo, regretted that the deceased would be greatly missed, not only by her colleagues in the Assembly, her family but the people of various communities whose lives were transformed through her various empowerment initiatives.

He prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest, the Patriarch of Adedoyin family, Pa Samuel Adedoyin, family and associates, the people of her constituency, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, State PDP family and the entire People of Kwara, the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
