Kwara state government set to assist victims of Ilorin rainstorm

Date: 2018-04-07

Following a heavy rainstorm that led to destruction of properties in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, the state government has set up a committee to assess the level of damage.

This is with a view to assisting those affected.

Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara state governor on Media, Muideen Akorede disclosed this while speaking with newsmen.

A one-hour downpour accompanied by heavy storm had wreaked havoc as most residents of Ilorin are still counting their losses.

Akorede said the committee has visited most of the affected areas and will make recommendations to the state government for necessary assistance.
