Ilorin West Women Caucus Empowers Widows Across Kwara State

The Ilorin West Women Caucus under the All Progressives Congress (APC) today empowered hundreds of widows across the State to support the Leadership of the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki as well as to alleviate poverty in our environment.

The programme, according to the Coordinator, Alhaja Lateefat Oke-Ero, was to contribute their own coter to the development of women most especially the widows and also designed to support the efforts of the Distinguished Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed on widows.

However, she also used the avenue to express a sincere appreciation unbehave of the other members to the Special adviser to the Senate President on Special Duties, Protocol Matters and Intra Parliamentary Relations, Hon Mashood Mustapha, the Speaker KWHA Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad, the Chief Of Staff, Alhaji AbdulWahab Babatunde, Hon Commissioner for Women Affairs, Alhaja Ayinke Saka, the Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Hajia Sarat Adebayo, Hon. Farooq Saruk, Alhaji Hassan Gegele and Alhaji Saka Abimbola Isahu. Others are Alhaji Oba Aluko, Alhaji Ali Olola, Alhaji Saliu Abosi Oyoyan, Alhaja Segilola Abdulkadir, Hon. Kale Ayo, Alhaji Musa Abdullah and Alhaji Saka Babatunde for their moral and financial contributions to the success of the programme.

In her remarks, the Hon. Commissioner for women affairs, Alhaja Ayinke Saka, first and foremost appreciated the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed for their support for women in Kwara State.

She also praised the group for the initiative to empower the windows to alleviate their suffering and reduce poverty in our environment. She commended the initiative as one in line with the shared prosperity of the government of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Alhaja Sara Adebayo, the Chairman Local Government Service Commission, congratulated the beneficiaries of today's empowerment, describing it as a step in the right direction. Hajia Sarat, however, commended the organizers of the programme and promised her continoues support for women and community development programmes.
