Saraki's Made-In-Nigeria Advocacy Gets A Boost In Abuja

The Made-In-Nigeria Campaign of the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, gathers traction, as retail industry group dedicates acreage to Made-In-Nigeria talents and products.

The Abuja luxury retail landscape was electrified yesterday, as the Dunes Group, leading luxury retailers, launched and dedicated an entire floor of the flagship retail mall to #MadeInNigeria creative talents and products in apparel merchandise, arts and crafts.

The opening of the 4th Floor Made In Nigeria Marketplace was marked by an exhibition and fashion show, with over 40 exhibitors and retailers proudly making their products and services available to the public.

The launch was crowned by a dinner, and the unveiling of Dunes Ambassador, acclaimed Nollywood actress, Lilian Esoro.

In his speech, the President of the Senate, represented by Mr Bamikole Omishore, campaign director of Made In Nigeria, said in order to ensure continuous success, the Senate President has created a Made-In-Nigeria Desk in his office where there is effective interaction with critical stakeholders and members of the public on ways to identify local manufacturers whose products and services deserve patronage by government agencies.

On this commitment, his office will work with all Senate Committees to ensure that, as part of their oversight functions, government agencies make Made in Nigeria goods their first option during procurement.

The launch which featured the best of modern Nigeria's creative arts, design and entertainment was attended by Senator Phillip Aduda, Minister of Trade Aisha Abubakar, Banky W, Seyi Shay, Iyanya, Segun Awolowo and also graced by Mrs. Toyin Saraki, wife of the Senate President, accompanied by members of the Senators Wives Forum, among a roll call of dignitaries and celebrities.
