Date: 2017-01-16

The Acting Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Kwara State, Mr Olusegun Gbenga Adeyemi says the image of Nigerians outside the shores of the land has changed positively since the emergence of the present administration more so with the fight against corruption .

Mr Adeyemi who stated this in Ilorin, the State capital while featuring on a Radio Kwara personality interview programme Playing Host, said as at date, Nigeria is having a better image than before.

According to him, the nation now has a government in place that is seriously working on the image of this country by fighting corruption and promoting those things that can promote good image for Nigeria particularly outside the country.

The NOA boss disclosed that President Muhammadu BUHARI has displayed uncommon passion in the fight against corruption and other acts of indiscipline which initially brought the image of Nigeria to the lowest ebb. > Mr Adeyemi implored Nigerians to imbibe and key into the Change Begins With Me agenda of the Federal Government stressing that Nigerians should resolve to always take their destiny in their own hands and shun all acts of laziness, corruption and negative mindsets.

According to him , the agency is in collaboration with all arms of government including security agencies and various government parastatals to ensure that all unemployed youths are gainfully engaged in one trade or the other.

He appealed to Nigerians to make use of the Voluntary Contributor Social Insurance Programme of the Federal Government as it would be beneficial to even those that are not employed and the retirees with only fifteen thousand Naira the year round for your health benefits in any of the primary health care facilities across the country.

Mr Adeyemi commended the government and people of Kwara State under the leadership of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for ensuring peaceful Coexistence and harmonious relationship among one another and for the government to ensure share distribution of prosperity.

He added that the state government is working on the KICK programme which is to kick out indiscipline and corruption out of the state as the initiative will ensure that the well being of kwarans is sustained and boost economic security while the civil servants will imbibe the slogan of the change agenda and say something when you see something and be a whistle blower.

The NOA acting director appealed to Nigerians to be more security conscious and vigilant due to the dislodgment of the Boko Haram sects from the Sambisa Forest by the military as the terrorists now move around to perpetrate their evil deeds warning landlords to scrutinize their would-be tenets before they are given accommodation.

Similarly, he urged religious leaders in churches and Mosques to be wary of those that describe themselves as new converts as such people should be well screened so that one might not end up being a victim of the terrorist group.
