Kwara to benefit from World Bank Energy Project

Farmers will be sensitised at the World Bank Alternative Energy workshop scheduled to hold for five days.

Kwara State has been selected as one of the few States in the country to benefit from the World Bank Alternative Energy source.

Under the programme, communities in the rural areas, particularly farmers will be sensitised at a workshop scheduled to hold for five days at different locations in the State.

The programme with the theme, "Lighting Africa", Nigeria is focused on poverty reduction among the rural dwellers, aimed at eradicating the use of lanterns and encouraging the use of solar energy.

Kwara State Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, Mr. Olawale Ajibola, while briefing newsmen in Ilorin, said the workshops will hold in five locations in Ilorin, Oro, Okuta, Kaiama and Gbugbu, commencing from Tuesday, November 22, 2016.

He urged all farmers in the State to make use of the opportunity and to attend the workshops.
