Igbomina Mobile Clinic Project, a necessity for underserved rural populace
In its first quarterly report at a teleconference meeting amongst the Project Implementation Committee and Igbomina Community, North America held last night, it was agreed that from the experiences gained so far the healthcare project, which kick- started few months ago has proved to be desirable for underserved communities like Igbomina people.
The report jointly presented by Mr Emmanuel Bamidele Adewuyi and Cmrd Olaitan Oyin Zubair, Chairman and Secretary of the Committee respectively, noted with satisfaction how the people of Igbominaland had keyed into the project through their patronage.
It also disclosed that efforts were being made by the Committee to improve on recruitment of volunteers for its medical team with a view to increasing the frequencies of health visitations by the Project to the hinterland of Igbominaland stressing however that preventive healthcare education was being made a priority rather than medication.
This, they opined, will assist to prevent killer diseases through good sanitation exercise adding that the project committee will align and improve on the efforts of some corps members that have successfully embarked on such environmental sanitation exercises as their community development projects in the area.
The meeting coordinated by the chairman Igbomina Communuty, North America , Engr Nurudeen Adeyemi called on Igbomina people both at home and abroad to see the project as theirs which should attract their moral and financial support while stressing the fact that it must be self sustaining.
In a related development, a prominent traditional ruler in Igbominaland, Oba Solomon Oloyede Ilufemiloye II, the Olusin Of Isanlu-Isin has pledged the support of Igbomina Obas to the progress and sustainability of the healthcare project, which he described, as their baby.
He also commended both members of the Project Implementation Committee and its Medical Team for doing a perfect job thus far.
Olusin who made this commendation during a courtesy visit by the Select members of the Committee headed by Mr Adewuyi declared that the Project's health visitations to Isin local government area on the 3rd Sept will be welcomed.
