Saraki epitome of lawlessness - Agoro

Date: 2016-04-22

The former national chairman and presidential candidate of the erstwhile National Action Council (NAC), Dr. Olapade Agoro, has described the Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, as "Nigeria's epitome of lawlessness and shamelessness." Saraki is facing trial of corruption charges at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

In a statement he issued Ibadan, yesterday, Agoro said: "In the annals of socio-political and historical development of Nigeria, no one on record would be found and or could be said to have brazenly and shamelessly held a sharp edged knife to the jugular of the nation's judiciary like Bukola Saraki, the Senate President.

"He (Saraki), in concert with his birds of the same feathers in the Senate, and hired lawyers, without conscience, have turned the nation's courts into theatre of absurdity, harassing innocent judges and the temple of justice with reckless and frivolous applications, enough to intimidate jelly minded ones among the judges.

" Incidentally, President Muhammad Buhari, now commander- in-chief of the armed forces, also went through harrowing and painful experience of court trials, in attempt to claim a mandate, but without ever contemplating to hold the judiciary and judicial system to standstill.

"Why, on earth, is the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bukola Saraki's political party in power at the national level, and particularly in the Senate, incapable and unable to cage him, if only to justify its change mantra noise making?"
