Stakeholders upbeat at ending Kwara fuel scarcity

The Independent Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and the Department for Petroleum Resources (DPR), have assured the public the lingering fuel crisis in Ilorin and other parts of Kwara State will be resolved.

They gave this assurance during a meeting with Kwara State government officials led by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Baba Wahab, and the Commissioner for Commerce and Co-operatives, Ahmed Muhammed Rifun at Government House, Ilorin.

The meeting resolved the bottlenecks and other issues identified by the IPMAN and DPR to ensure that fuel supply is restored in the state.

The Kwara State government also gave an assurance that it would continue to monitor the situation to ensure that the understanding between the DPR and IPMAN members in the state was maintained.

State Chairman of IPMAN, Alhaji Okanlawon Olanrewaju, said as major stakeholders, the association had no interest imposing avoidable hardship on the people.

He also stated members' commitment to restoring normalcy to fuel supply in the state.

Speaking after the meeting Gold expressed satisfaction the crisis which has brought untold hardship to the people of the state was ending.
