Saraki seeks support from constituents

Date: 2015-11-22

Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, yesterday appealed for continuous support to the government at the state and federal levels to enable them fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the citizenry.

Saraki, who specifically called for support for the state government, stated that the enormity of problems confronting her was huge "and it is the will of God to have decided to bless our state with headship of the Senate in order to conjoin appropriately with the state government and deliver the dividends of democracy."

Speaking at a forum in Ilorin with the leaders of all the 69 wards of Ilorin Emirate, Dr Saraki said that the problems that the country was grappling with is huge "even the oil producing states with big revenue from federal allocation and very high internally generated revenue are contending with many financial challenges".

While thanking the people for their goodwill, he called for continuous prayers to surmount the challenges of the present and future.

He stated that he's not unaware of some complaints from the people but he urged all and sundry to stay focused, "because the problem is not localised. I do seriously appreciate how well our people worked very hard during the last elections. And I can assure you, In Shaa Allah, that we shall do our best to meet their desire."
