Wikki Tourists captain and right back Mustapha Ibrahim has said his side deserved their hard-fought victory at Kwara United

The Bauchi outfit pipped the Harmony Boys 1-0 in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match-day 23 clash at the Kwara State Stadium in llorin.

Godwin Obaje scored the match winner in the 72nd minute to hand his side the three points at stake.

Ibrahim said his side's game plan to absorb the heat while looking for breakthrough for the killer punch worked 100 percent in the encounter.

"We saw the victory coming though we knew it won't come on a platter.

"We knew the opponents would come at us right from the blast of the whistle so our game plan was to sit back and absorb the onslaught and it worked perfectly well.

"We held on to our match plan until the 72nd minute when we got the breakthrough, which we converted to earn a deserving away win.

"wara United fought hard for the equaliser but discovered that we were not in any mood to let go of our lead.

"I think we played better and deserved to win the difficult encounter," said Ibrahim to supersport.com.

The win at Kwara United upped Wikki Tourists' points haul to 38 five points behind league leaders Sunshine Stars.
