Attack On Buhari's Wife - Court Orders Two Persons to Be Remanded in Prison
An Ilorin Magistrate's Court yesterday remanded two suspects over the alleged attack on the convoy of the APC presidential candidate's wife, Hajia Aisha Buhari, during her visit to Kwara State last week.
Those ordered to be remanded in prison custody are Sulaiman Lawal, 27, and Lukuman Isiaka, 20. They were arraigned on a five-count charge of criminal conspiracy, mischief, belonging to gang of thieves, extortion, assault and disturbance of public peace contrary to sections 97, 327, 306, 292 and 113 of the penal code law.
According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), the suspects attempted to extort money from Aishat Buhair who was accompanied by the APC vice-presidential candidate's wife, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo and Kwara State first lady, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed on their way from the palace of the Emir of Ilorin after paying homage to the traditional ruler.
