Student Held Over Rape
A 21- year- old student, Tajudeen Babatunde, was yesterday remanded in prison by a Magistrate's Court in Ilorin, Kwara State over rape.
The case was transferred from the Department of State Security Services (DSS) to the Department Criminal Investigation, Ilorin.
It stated that on February 16, Tajudeen kidnapped a woman at villa gate area of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, and took her to his friend's house where they raped her.
The prosecution said the accused accomplice, Samad Rasheed, is currently at large.
It added that Tajudeen and Samad Rasheed are members of the Eiye confraternity and have been terrorizing students of the institution.
The court could not take the plea of the accused and Magistrate M.F. Abikoye ordered him remanded at the Oke-kura prison and adjourned the case to March 18.
