INEC begins distribution of PVCs in 193 Kwara wards

Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of the Permanent Voter's Cards (PVC) in the 193 wards of Kwara State. INEC spokesman, Mr Jacob Ayanda made this known to our Correspondent on Wednesday that the exercise was as a result of the directive from INEC chairman, Prof Atahiru Jega. According to Ayanda, the move was to enable all registered voters collect their PVC before the commencement of the 2015 general election.

He expressed optimism that every eligible and registered voter s would collect their PVC before the expiration of the exercise on January 30, 2015.

Ayanda therefore appealed to all registered voters who have not collected their voter's card to visit the polling station nearest to them to collect their cards.

He said INEC personnel have been deployed to the wards to facilitate the distribution of the cards and urged the people to be orderly during the exercise.

Ayanda said INEC would on January 28, post notice of poll for all the elections.

The INEC spokesman added that Thursday, February 12, 2015 was the last day for campaigns for Presidential and National Assembly while campaigns for Governorship and House of Assembly ends on February 26, 2015.

He added that elections for President and National Assembly would hold on February 14 while that of Governor and House of Assembly comes up on February 28, 2015.
