Girl, 11, Gang Raped In Ilorin
An eleven-year-old girl in Adeta area, Ilorin, Kwara State has been allegedly gang raped by teenage boys simply identified as Wasiu and Ade .
It was gathered that the victim, a primary five pupil of a public primary school in Adeta area, went to beg for money to buy food from the suspected rapists, but was reportedly lured into their rented apartment till the following day on the pretext of acceding to her demand.
It was learnt that Wasiu, who first had carnal knowledge of the victim, invited his other accomplice, who joined him at midnight to further perpetrate the evil act.
A resident of the area who did not want his name in print said that the girl was released the following day and taken to her father by a good Samaritan who found her roaming the street along Gaa Aremu area in the early hours of Sunday.
The source said the alleged rapists fled their apartment on getting information that the father of the victim was coming along with police to arrest them.
It was further gathered that the father of the victim, Mallam Isiaka Akanji, a peasant farmer, reportedly accused his wife of being responsible for his daughter's plight.
Speaking to newsmen, the victim said she was forced to beg for money because of her father's cruelty, alleging that he always locked her up without providing her with basic needs including food.
She said,"he locks me up in my mummy's room and hardly feeds me. I was not allowed to speak with anybody let alone go out even to school. My mother is squatting with a friend in Abuja. I struggle to fend for myself."
