Kwara procures 100 transformers
The Kwara Government on Monday said it had purchased 100 transformers of various ratings to be distributed to 100 Communities across the 16 Local Government areas pf the state.
The state Commissioner for Energy, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi diosclosed this in llorin during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday. He said the Ministry had already taken delivey of all the 100 transformers from the contractor.
The Commissioner who did not specify the cost of the transformers said the procurement would be a continuous process by the state government.
Abdullahi said the government embarked on the measure to further improve power supply in the state, adding that steady power supply would improve the economy of the state and provide employment to teeming unemployed youths.
He said the transformers would be distributed to 100 communities across the three senatorial districts without considering political affiliations or background of the residents.
Abdullahi advised residents of the state to always guide and guard government facilities in their areas against vandalism and theft.
On malfunction traffic lights along whab Folawiyo / Ibrahim Taiwo road in llorin, the Commissioner said arrangement has been perfected for the repair of the traffic lights.
Abdullahi who did not disclose the amount the amount yhe only traffic light in the state capital will gulp appealed to motorists in the state to exercise patience with the government.
