Date: 2014-08-13

Kwara State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to continue fighting against the state government under All Progressive Congress (APC) against obtaining the N23 billion bond.

State Chairman of the party, Chief Iyiola Akogun, who stated this in Ilorin while speaking with Journalists said they would not open their eyes and allow the government throws the state into another debt.

It could be recalled that the state government had disclosed its intention to borrow N23 billion bond from capital market to finance some projects.

The state government under immediate past governor, Sen. Bukola Saraki, had sought for N30 billion bond to finance capital projects while it confirmed that N17 billion were utilised.

Akogun, who was among strong critics of state government proposed bond, said the party would not allow the APC government to be subjected to debt before it leaves the Government House.

"This government is on it way out of Government House. We can not allow this government to borrow this bond and subject our state to debt in future", he said.
