The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has said it did not nominate any candidate to President Goodluck Jonathan for ministerial appointment.

The party said it is the prerogative of the president to appoint whoever he prefers as minister but the party could only support a candidate.

More than three months after the sack of former sports minister Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, a replacement is yet to be made to fill the existing Kwara vacancy in the federal cabinet.

State publicity secretary of the party, Chief Rex Olawoye said, "It is the sole duty of the president to appoint, we can suggest candidate but which at this point we have not chosen any."

He spoke during an empowerment programme organised by the senator representing Kwara South and a PDP governorship aspirant, Senator Simeon Ajibola where several food items were donated for Muslim faithful to commemorate the ongoing Ramadan fasting.
