Bonds won't solve Kwara's infrastructure challenge - PDP
The PDP in Kwara State says taking bonds will not solve the problem of dearth of infrastructure in the state.
The party's Publicity Secretary, Chief Rex Olawoye, stated this on Sunday in Ilorin while reacting to the state government's plan to float a N23 billion bond.
The PDP spokesman said in a statement that what was desired was prudent and efficient management of available resources with emphasis on the plight of the ordinary people.
Olawoye said the earlier N1.4 billion sourced from a bond was not judiciously used in the renovation exercise carried out at the state stadium complex.
"The entire premises and living environment of the complex is in such a bad condition that can further pose a security threat to residents.
"Apart from the fact that the environment is not well kept for sporting activities, it portrays the look of a jungle," he said.
Olawoye further argued that the level of work done at the complex was not commensurate with the N1.4 billion allocated.
He urged financial institutions engaged in business dealings with the state government to exercise caution. (NAN)
