Fagbemi Denies Dumping APC

Date: 2014-04-04

A member of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Barr Kamaldeen Fagbemi yesterday described as unfounded the report that he was allegedly planning to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Fagbemi, who represents Oke-Ogun constituency of Oyun Local Government, described the report published by a news website as “unfounded, malicious, un-becoming and a deliberate attempt to bring him to disrepute among members of APC” in his constituency and the state at large.

Speaking in a chat with our correspondent, the legal practitioner further maintained that the report was orchestrated to cause disaffection between him and former Governor Bukola Saraki.

It would be recalled that out of the 22 lawmakers elected under PDP, 20 of them defected to APC in deference to Saraki and Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed who had earlier dumped the PDP.
